Imagine the eye as a camera. The clear front of the eye focuses light, and the “cable” at the back, called the optic nerve, carries the picture to the brain. Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions where this optic nerve is damaged, often linked to pressure inside the eye.

Over time, this damage can lead to loss of side vision and, if not controlled, more serious vision loss. The tricky part is that glaucoma damage usually happens slowly and quietly. Many people feel fine and see well in daily life, even while small changes are happening in the background.
